Happy, Happy Mother's Day!

Well my children and husband did it again! They gave me the best Mother's Day. Melissa made this incredible collage of pictures of Doug when he was a little boy and framed them in a beautiful frame - way cute. She and Aaron came over for a wonderful dinner, made by Doug. We had steaks, twice baked potatoes and salad. The steaks had been marinated in Doug's "secret sauce". Boy is it a secret . . . I can't get him to tell me what is in it. Really yummy. Then at 1:45 yesterday afternoon, Brent called from Peru!

We all huddled around the speaker phone and enjoyed a family discussion for 1 1/2 hours! We laughed and cried together. He told us that he loved us and that he worries about us constantly. He said he got to speak in church on Mother's Day because the speakers were a no show. I asked him what he said. He hesitated and I thought it was because he was trying to remember the words in English. Nope, he was trying to gain his composure. As he struggled to tell me, my heart swelled triple in size. He apologized (silly boy) and said that is exactly what happened in Church. If those Peruvians cannot feel the Spirit of our Heavenly Father through this wonderful young man, I don't know what is wrong with them.

I love my children so much. I am so grateful for them and for their love to me. I love my Heavenly Father so much for allowing me to be a mother and especially Melissa's and Brent's mother.

OK, you did it! I am crying! How wonderful for you! What greater gift could you have than a faithful, worthy son or daughter?

I wish you would share some of those photos of young Douglas! I remember him well! He was one of my favorites because he always let me play with his toys...well, maybe Aunt Lora made him...I don't know, but I loved him still the same!

I remember all to well the mothers day phone calls. We have spanish speaking sister missionaries living in the basement at this time. Yesterday I could see the joy and excitement on their faces to be able to call their mothers. I knew what their mothers were feeling also, and now so do you. I love the up dates on Brent. Glad to hear you had a wonderful Day!

How sweet! I think I'll send my kids to Peru so they can start appreciating me too (JK) You are lucky to have each other. Your son is lucky to be in Peru and the Peruvians are lucky he's there too.
On a Healthy Divas note, if you have any breakfast or lunch recpies, feel free to add them this month, and checkout two new (better than limeade)goal trackers and tell us which one you like the best!
