Minnie Pearl

Do you remember the country singer by the name of Minnie Pearl?  She use to perform on Hee Haw.  I use to just love her cute smile (so big that her eyes were just slits) and she wore crazy hats, all with the price tags still on them.  When I saw this picture of Marlee I thought of Minnie.

I loved Minne Pearl but I never could figure out why she didn't take those price tags off. Was it a joke on how she wanted to impress everyone with her "expensive" hat?
