First, update on Doug. He is doing really well. Here is a picture of the knee as of this morning. Doesn't it look really good? I know it still makes some people tingle all over, but it really is looking pretty good. He is moving around a lot. He is walking with a cane and his pain is manageable. He will be having the staples removed on Monday. Physical therapy is going really well too. He just amazes me!
Now the veggie part. I went out to my neglected garden to do some clean up and harvesting this morning. Oh my goodness I love this new hobby of mine. I worked out in it for a couple of hours. We've enjoyed everything but the canteloupe and that's just because all I have is a vine still. Any tricks about canteloupe? Are you supposed to do anything special for it? But everything else we have enjoyed eating and all of it has been really good. I took this picture this morning - kind of a Martha Stewart photo, huh?
I love this picture!!! Yummy stuff, huh?

Your veggies look so good, Lori! YUM! I have never grown corn but we did try onions this year. We are loving them! So glad your husband is healing well. Poor guy! I know you are taking good care of him.:) Lori
Lori! Congratulations on those vegetables! They are beautiful! I say you should plant a bigger garden next time! My Dad always had the best cantaloupe. I will ask my mother if she remembers anything he did. He could grow anything though, and dids so quite well!
Wow, I am still astounded at Doug's knee! I am glad he isdoing so well!
I'm the tingley one!!!
Aunt Lori,
Tell Uncle Doug we are glad he is doing well, and that he is healing so quickly! I had knew surgery YEARS ago, I have a scar very similar to the one Uncle Doug has, and an additional one on the side, it's real "tuff lookin" LOL.. good thing for Uncle Doug, scars are cool on guys (probably not as cool on me, darn)..however, staple removal, ummmm, not pleasant, perhaps you shouldn't tell him that? The healing over the staples is what makes it uncomfortable..
Correction, I did NOT have knew surgery (not even sure what kind that is, but good chance it hurts). I had KNEE surgery, like Uncle Doug :0)
i saw this post earlier & forgot to comment!!! i'm so glad your man is recovering....oh, how that looks PAINFUL!
i am SOOOOOOO amazed/jealous at your harvest! holy cow! teach me!!!
