I arose early, put on my running shoes and my sweats and headed out with Brent & Melissa to the annual Turkey Trot race. It has become a tradition in our house to participate in this fun activity. The kids always run the full 10K, but I know my limitations and I stick to the 2.5 mile fun run. Brent cheered me on at the beginning of the race and I think I kind of surprised Melissa at the end when I came in at a little over 18 minutes (do the math, that's 9 minute miles!). I know I was shocked too!I love standing at the start, cheering them on, then at the half way mark and finally, with my camera posed, I snap pictures of them as they struggle up that darn stupid hill at the finish line. It always amazes me.

The weather wasn't too bad. I was afraid that it would be raining, but it held up until after the race and then it sprinkled just a little bit.
I wish I were like my children and could run effortlessly. I guess I just need to get motivated and make myself do it. I know I felt less guilty yesterday afternoon as I filled my plate with high calorie food . . . maybe next year I'll attempt the full 10K.

Woot woot! That's awesome! I have never even run a mile, so I think you are amazing! Glad you had a hapy turkey day! Ours was good too. Hey, if you're up for a boutique this weekend, the info is on my blog. =0) Have a great evening!
Why would you put those pictures on here! I look like i'm a million pounds! Thanks. I was really proud of you though. 18:00 minutes for 2 miles! WOW
I would totally recommend reading Angels and Demons first. It is a great read plus it will give you an idea of the depth of the movie, if that makes sense. Let me know what you think, if you read it.
Holy Moly.. Look at those leg muscles on Melissa's.. WOW Congrats you guys are awesome!
Good for you Aunt Lori! I wish that I liked to run....just not my thing!
Wahoo! Maybe next year I'll run with you guys. Maren and I did our own turkey trot to the stake center...loads of fun!
